2026 Heart Awards is Open!

The Heart Awards is a romance writing contest hosted by Oklahoma Romance Writers Guild for both published and unpublished works of romantic fiction. This contest supports programs to help romance writers and authors in Oklahoma and across the world.

15 Categories will each have 3 finalists and 1 winner!

15 Category winners will receive a Red Art Glass Heart Trophy with the title of their winning book and their author name on it.

Published Categories 1-8 is for romance books published with a copy right date of 2025

1. Erotic Romance Novel

2. Scorcher Romance Novel

3. Steamy Romance Novel

4. Sensual Romance Novel

5. Sweet Romance Novel

6. Non-Romance w/Strong Romantic Subplot Novel

7. Sweet/Sensual Romance Novella

8. Steamy/Scorcher Romance Novella

Unpublished Categories 9-15 is for unpublished romance manuscripts and poetry that have not previously won one of our unpublished categories.

11. Speculative Romance

12. Historical Romance

13. Dark Romance

14. Erotica Romance
